Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough. – Emily Dickinson

Dear Reader,

The Wellbeing Ateliers

January 2023

I hope this letter finds you well, I have learnt so much over the last year. I kept a simple and quiet schedule which has suited family life and now I am feeling ready for 2023 and some new exciting projects on the horizon. I finally feeling brave enough to offer the groups in French and will be bringing back in person groups again. They’ll be in the clinic space here for the time being as I know I can keep it warm and cosy during the winter months. We also have access to fabulous walks in the garrigue, weather permitting, as part of a new workshop called Joy Club, to which I intend to add some nature based wellbeing tools such as foraging. Read on for some of the new things for January.

Rest and Restore

“When you rest, you catch your breath and it holds you up, like water wings…” — Anne Lamott

This is the new name for the weekly mediation atelier, honouring the intention of the space and the way it has evolved. I want to support you to rest in the space of your body and leave the atelier restored. Offering an invitation pause, recentre and build internal resources to manage the difficulties that life presents us with. We focus on activating our parasympathetic nervous system, our rest and restore system, through becoming more present in the space of our bodies, learning its messages and listening to it.

If you’d like to have a look at what to expect you can find a taster session HERE.

A monthly afternoon education session exploring developing new strategies to support us to live more joyful lives. Drawing on my 22 years of experience as an OT we will be exploring practical and simple activity based tools that increase our neuroplasticity, this refers to the lifelong capacity of the brain to change and rewire itself in response to the stimulation of learning and experience. How making small changes can lead to long term changes that have a positive impact on your mental health and wellbeing.

January’s session will be on the theme of Hopes & Plans.

Online £20 live recordings available.

In person 35€ with afternoon tea and resources to make a collage.

Individual Occupational Therapy sessions are also available, with a 6 session Wellbeing Package for those looking to make sustainable changes over 2023.

The Wellbeing Invitation will be back in January, a free and simple prescription of activities to support wellbeing. If you didn’t catch the last one exploring our senses you can find it here. It included 5 different sensory based meditation practices of around 10 minutes if you need a moment of calm.
